We offer pre-travel health checks, a travel health advice service and advice regarding recommended vaccination and anti-malarial prophylaxis for patients over 16 years old only. If you are planning foreign travel, you should book a consultation with the doctor or the practice nurse well in advance. Ideally, book your appointment at least four to six weeks before your planned trip. Your individual requirements will be assessed based on your destination, length of trip, previous vaccinations and medical history. You will need a medical consultation to ensure that you are safe to travel and to be vaccinated. Requirements can change, for any country, according to various outbreaks. Most of Europe, Australia and North America do not need particular vaccinations for travel, but if you are unsure it is best to discuss this with us. Vaccinations commonly recommended for travel to certain parts of Asia, Africa and Central or South America include Hepatitis A, Typhoid, Tetanus, Diphtheria and Polio. Hepatitis B vaccination is advised for long stay travellers (greater than 4 weeks) in certain areas, or people who may be exposed through occupational activity. Hepatitis B vaccination requires a course of three injections at separate intervals. Please note that we are not a Yellow Fever Vaccination Centre
